10. Creator Profile & Audience Data

What data we access from Instagram and Meta platforms

When a creator chooses to connect their Instagram or Facebook account to CourtCollab, we request access to the following data via the Meta Graph API, using only the permissions necessary to display creator analytics to brands on our platform:

  • Basic profile information — username, profile name, and profile picture
  • Follower count — total number of followers on the connected account
  • Media count — total number of posts published
  • Engagement metrics — likes, comments, saves, and overall engagement rate
  • Reach and impressions — how many unique accounts and total views recent content has received
  • Audience demographics — aggregate breakdowns of followers by age range, gender, and top geographic locations (country and city level), as provided by Meta's API
  • Content performance data — insights on individual posts and stories, including reach, impressions, and interactions

Why we access this data

This data is accessed solely to support the core function of CourtCollab's platform: connecting content creators with brands for sponsored partnership campaigns. Specifically, this data is used to:

  • Populate the creator's public profile on CourtCollab so brands can evaluate their reach and audience fit
  • Generate a Brand Fit Score — an algorithmic compatibility rating shown to brands when reviewing potential creator partners
  • Display audience demographic summaries to brands to help them determine whether a creator's audience matches their target market
  • Provide brands with the context needed to make informed decisions about campaign partnerships and deal terms

We do not use Instagram or Facebook data for advertising targeting, we do not sell this data to third parties, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond facilitating creator–brand partnerships on our platform.

How creators authorize access

Creators explicitly authorize CourtCollab's access to their Instagram and Facebook data through Meta's standard OAuth authentication flow. During this process, creators review and approve the specific permissions being requested before any data is accessed. Connecting a social media account is entirely optional — creators can use CourtCollab without connecting any social accounts, though doing so limits their discoverability to brands.

Data from TikTok and YouTube

Creators may also connect their TikTok and YouTube accounts. Similar profile and performance data (follower/subscriber count, engagement metrics, and audience demographics) is collected from these platforms through their respective APIs, for the same purpose of populating creator profiles and facilitating brand partnerships.

How to disconnect your accounts

Creators may disconnect any connected social media account at any time through their CourtCollab account settings. Upon disconnection, the corresponding social data will be removed from the creator's public profile on the platform. You may also revoke CourtCollab's access directly through your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube account settings at any time.

Data retention

Social media performance data is refreshed periodically to keep creator profiles current. If a creator disconnects a social account or deletes their CourtCollab account, we will remove the associated social data from our active systems within a reasonable time frame, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business obligation.

Requesting deletion of your Instagram or Facebook data

If you would like to request the deletion of data we have collected from your Instagram or Facebook account specifically, you may do so at any time by:

  • Disconnecting your Instagram or Facebook account via your CourtCollab account settings, which will remove that data from your profile; or
  • Submitting a written data deletion request by emailing ben@courtcollab.com with the subject line "Instagram Data Deletion Request." We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days.

You may also revoke CourtCollab's access to your Instagram or Facebook data directly through your Meta account settings at any time, which will immediately prevent any further data access.

Meta Platform Terms. CourtCollab's collection and use of data received from Meta platforms (Instagram and Facebook) is subject to Meta's Platform Terms, available at https://developers.facebook.com/terms/. We use Meta platform data only in ways that comply with those terms and only for the purposes described in this section.
